The short version
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. There are no accounts, no forms, no comments, no newsletter. The only thing measured is how many people read which page, and where they arrived from — counted in a way that cannot identify you and does not follow you anywhere else.
That is also why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you to accept.
What is measured
Visitor counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records for each page view:
- the page you opened
- the site or search engine you came from, if any
- country, browser and device type
- how long the page took to load
No cookie is set, no identifier is stored in your browser, and nothing links one visit to another. Your IP address is used in transit to derive the country and is not retained. Nothing here is sold, shared, or passed to advertisers — there is no advertising on this site.
What changed, and why it is written here
Until August 2026 this page described cookies from Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager behind a consent banner. On review, the tag inside that container was for Universal Analytics, which Google shut down in July 2023 — so the banner had been asking visitors to consent to a tracker that reported nowhere, and this page described cookies that were not being set.
Rather than replace it with a newer Google tag and keep the banner, the whole thing was removed in favour of counting without cookies. Fewer moving parts, nothing stored on your device, and — the honest part — the numbers now include people who would have declined, instead of quietly excluding them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and comparable laws you may ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its processing. In practice there is very little to act on here: nothing collected identifies you, and no record exists that could be traced back to a person. If you want to be certain no request reaches this site at all, any content blocker or browser tracking protection will stop the counting script.
Hosting
The site is served as static files by GitHub Pages, which processes request logs as part of delivering the page. Analytics data is processed by Cloudflare, Inc. under its privacy policy.
